Jessica Meir/Maine Astronaut

Six years ago NASA selected Jessica Meir for astronaut training. Since September, the Caribou, Maine native continues to serve on her first mission to the International Space Station (ISS). As a flight engineer, Jessica co-piloted the Soyuz MS-15 spacecraft launched on Sept. 25 from Kazakhstan. Cosmonaut Oleg Skripochka of the Russian space agency Roscosmos and Hazzaa Ali Almansoori of the United Arab Emirates’ Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre joins Jessica aboard the ISS with the crew of nine.
